Ecricome is a 20 years old consortium of 6 major Business Schools in France (Grandes Ecoles) :

BEM- Bordeaux Management School, Euromed Management, ICN Business School (Nancy), Reims Management School, Rouen Business School and ESCEM Grande Ecole.

These Schools all resort to common entrance examination for their different programmes.

For their research programme, and in particular for their doctoral one, they have decided to join forces in order to create the largest management research group in France.

Within the finest European culture and tradition in research in the social sciences, The Universa PhD Programme aims to foster and flourish an innovative and ground breaking research agenda, both in respect to themes in study as in the application of research methodologies itself. Management research with the flavour of our typical Grandes Ecoles tradition: with and for management and business.

Management being an applied science, for The Universa PhD Programme its conceptual basis ranges as wide as from philosophy and anthropology, via sociology, organizational behavior up to economy. Cutting edge applied social sciences therefore needs adapted research approaches and methodologies. Without exclusion of any scientific approach, The Universa PhD Programme is particularly welcoming good qualitative work, with a high focus on field work, that can be highly experiential and could perfectly be constructivist.  

Not only is the Universa PhD Programme the largest management research group in France, its ambition is also to become the most innovative one.  Research at the Universa PhD Programme is no "re-search", but genuinely explorative and groundbreaking research, with a clear corporate or societal impact.

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has established high standards for the evaluation of quality of business school activities (EQUIS) regarding their degree of internationalisation, their ability to innovate, their research, and their pedagogy).Of the several hundred business schools in Europe, the Ecricome member schools are among the 59 which have achieved EQUIS accreditation.
